At the July 11, 2021 LRA meeting, Tom Laughlin introduced an opportunity for Lake Raponda to achieve a reclassification by the Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to A1 water quality level. His well summarized remarks are documented in this statement.
Oliver Pierson of the DEC has also provided two documents which Tom and the Lake Raponda Environmental Foundation have studied and vetted for several months before bringing this proposal to the LRA and watershed community. These are:
